You’ve got to hand it to Ian Adams. He is the writer and Director of this classic Panto and even stars on stage as one of the lead characters. |

Last years Garrick Panto was the best Christmas Theatre fun I’ve had in ages so it hardly seemed possible that this year’s show could be better, but believe me it’s absolutely brilliant and never a dull moment from first to last. |

Who says you need big star names to make a panto a success? This production is a real winner and instead of budget-busting salaries being paid to a couple of headliners, it’s obvious that plenty of cash has been spent instead on making this a truly magical, sumptuous affair. Throw two perfectly wicked Ugly Sisters (Paul Greenwood and Ian Adams) into the mix and you have the complete panto package that even includes a seasonal flurry of ‘real’ snow. |

A sparkling script by Ian Adams and Brian Herring, and some great songs including clever parodies give this traditional panto a definite lift. The jokes are not too hackneyed and there is plenty of topical material, giving it a fresh feel. The versatile Ian Adams oozes experience and professionalism as Dame Trott with a performance that benefits from his resistance to any temptation he may have had to go over the top. This year's panto at the Lichfield Garrick opened on Thursday 7th of December and recieved high praise from the Express and Star's Faye Casey. |

Dick Whittington and His Magical Cat, London Zoo 2005 Christmas is not an obvious time to take a stroll around London Zoo but the site’s first ever pantomime is likely to have made business a little brisker... ...As well as being the creative impetus behind the show, author/director Ian Adams is also the driving force onstage as delightful dame Sarah the Cook. |

As to be expected from a Hiss and Boo production, this is a fast moving, happy show, rooted in tradition yet laced with the contemporary elements expected by a modern day audience... ...Old favourites such as the kitchen scene and the ghost sit comfortably alongside nice variations on themes, for instance a shopping channel slant on The 12 Days of Christmas. ... the two shining lights in an able cast are without doubt Antony Howes and Ian Adams as Idle Jack and the Dame. This pair of seasoned pros create instant rapport with the audience, Howes connecting with his dopey humour, engaging smile, accents and tap dancing, while Adams brings monstrous yet vulnerable authority to his role. |
