- Developing the thinking around NHS-funded nursing and producing a tool to determine funding levels. Product: The Registered Nurse Care Contribution (RNCC) (2000-2001).
- Reviewing the role of specialist nurses in rehabilitative and anticipatory care for people with disability and chronic progressive disease (2000-2001) Report published March 2002.
Care Services Improvement Partnership
- On behalf of the My Home Life team developing a briefing paper on dementia in care homes towards informing the new National Dementia Strategy (2008)
Nursing and Midwifery Council (UKCC)
- Project managing “The UKCC, registrants and the independent sector” exploring the professional, occupational and educational issues for registrants working outside the NHS. Final major project of the UKCC.
Royal College of Nursing, UK
- Developing resource materials to support staff in addressing issues of older people's relationships, intimacy and sexuality in care homes (2008)
- Working with the RCN's adviser and forums in evaluating the Older People Strategy (2007)
- Contributing to the Age Concern/RCN Education Think Tank (2007)
- Collecting evidence for the Royal Commission on the Long-term Care of Older People (1997-1999) and various Health Select Committee Inquiries.
- Representing the RCN on Department of Health/Centre for Policy on Ageing Advisory Groups to revise Home Life guidelines for the care of older people in nursing and residential care homes (1995-1996) and develop National Minimum Standards for Nursing and Residential Care Homes (1998-1999).
- Working with NHS Executive devising guidelines or the development of local eligibility criteria for NHS continuing care funding and monitoring systems (1995)
- Developing and writing policies, such as ‘the single registration care home’
- Working with other organisations, such as the UK Central Co-ordinating Committee for Cancer Research, the Relatives Association, Counsel and Care, National Council for Hospice and Palliative Care.
- Working with staff and members on a range of projects including the RCN Nursing Older People Assessment Tool and Outcome Indicators in Continuing Care (1994-1997).
- At the invitation of the RCN, giving oral evidence to the House of Commons Health Select Committee on the role of the nurse in continuing care settings (1995).

- Conducting a feasibility study for Help the Aged on The Role of Older People Specialist Nurses with Abigail Masterson (2000-2001)
- Developing thinking and running workshops for both multi-professionals and purchasers of older people services with CONCAH (Continuing Care at Home) (1995-1996).
